Trinity's judgment

Vanessa's POV

The entire morning was hectic, because I had to spend a few hours with my fitness trainer and an extra hour with my beautician who worked hard to get rid of the puffs that had formed around my eyes overnight.

Last night was just so taxing. After that crazy incident with Rodri, and me running up to my room to cry my eyes out, only to find out that my mom had been hiding the fact that dad had been constantly showing up at the house…

Everything was just too much strain on my emotions.

Now, I felt better, and my eyes were no longer swollen, thanks to my beautician.

But I was still besides myself with worry. I grabbed my phone and dialed mom’s number. She didn’t answer it. I dialed a couple more time, with anxiety bubbling up inside me with each unanswered call.

Finally, she picked up, sounding a bit different and nasal.

I was immediately alarmed. “Mom? Are you okay?!”

She cleared her throat. “I’m fine, I’m fine, honey. It’s just, I decided to take a walk around this morning
