Chapter 17

After work, I left the company, but I almost lost my breath when a fast car stopped in front of me.

Maxwell got out, wearing a hoodie, cap, and sunglasses, and made me sit in the front of one of his cars.

“W-What are you doing?” I scolded him as he tried to put my seatbelt on. He ignored me and quickly drove off.

“Drop me off at the hospital. I need to watch over my mom.” I angrily placed my bag down beside me, but he kept driving in silence.

I was stunned when we passed the hospital, and I gave him a hard look, but my gaze was caught by his alluring blue eyes.

“We’ll talk,” he whispered and sped up.

“Isn't it obvious that I don't want to talk to you right now?” I snapped.

“It’s very obvious. That’s why I’m taking you by force because I don’t like being ignored by a woman,” he said firmly, pressing the accelerator harder to make the car go faster.

“Go ahead, speed up if you want us both to die—Maxwell!?” I shouted angrily as he did just that.
