“Abby! You have a delivery!”

I stuck my head out of the bathroom door at Maya’s voice. “What? I didn’t order anything.”

“Well, it clearly says Abigail Hayes and it has our apartment complex on it.”

“Accept it for me then,” I told her before I continued to scrub down my body while trying to recall if I ordered something and forgot about it.

Nothing came to mind. I’d been too broke these last few days to order anything. I’d only been working for a total of two weeks and I got paid monthly. It was a good thing the month was coming to an end soon.

As soon as I was done in the bathroom, I dried off my body and wrapped a robe around my body. It was Saturday, which meant it was my free day if George didn’t suddenly decide he needed me to accompany him to one of his dinners again. He had too many of those and I didn’t know why he never took his wife with him.
