Lucy rubbed her eyes aggressively with the back of her hands and soon opened them wide. She pressed her gaze on Marie at first but soon took a few steps forward to get closer to her.
Marie immediately backed away and stretched her hand at her so she would stop walking.
"What was that," Marie questioned, her chest lingering.
"I don't know… you could see that I was rubbing my eyes a few seconds ago," She said with a high-pitched sound, flipping her hands in the air.
"How is it, is it gone?" She asked with curiosity.
"Yeah, it's gone," She responded after replying with a grunt.
Lucy bowed her head and fell to her knees. She raised her hands slowly and widened them both, directing them to her face. She started for a while and soon scratched her hair.
"What's happening to me, I felt a surge of energy running through my veins a while ago," She whispered, her lips partly apart.
"Lucy, don't tell me you've been hiding your wolf from everyone,"
Lucy unhurriedly lifted her head in response to Marie's statement.
"Do you think I'll be here if I already have it… do you think I would be caught and brought back to the pack after I escaped if I had my wolf then?" She debated.
"I have no idea, it's all gone, I don't feel anything anymore," She concluded and sighed.
Marie shrugged and knelt so she and Lucy were in the same position right at her front.
"Lucy, look at me… I'm sorry for what happened, I didn't know her intentions in the first place," She said softly
Lucy blinked her eyes and looked away. "We're no longer together, we can never be together." She shut her eyes firmly and opened them back up with a deep sigh.
Silent filled the entire field for some moment as they both were short of words to say to each other. Lucy still had some anger kindled toward Marie but already forgave her but then again, whenever she thinks about what happened and how Marie had featured in everything that happened between her and Leo.
"Your anger must have triggered your wolf," She suggested.
"What does that even mean… I don't understand, I thought I was never going to have my wolf," She claimed.
"You don't have it, yet… Your wolf happens to show all because of a trigger… That means it's locked away," She paused, bitted her lips softly, and continued.
"Have seen something like this, a very long time ago… That was before I had my life wolf and got here," Marie nodded her head as she tried to think back to her past.
It was at the time before she became a slave to the Arcade pack. She wasn't the daughter of a Royal nor was she the daughter of a slave or an omega. In her case, her parents were well-known as her pack was not that many of a kind. There were just a few of them who happened to join forces together and became one.
Her Parents were the ones to raise such an idea. They were scattered all across the forest and away from other packs who were more civilized. Marie's parents knew somehow that the bigger packs will eventually come for them in search of slaves as they have always done.
Anyone caught at the time of their rais will be incapacitated and stripped of their freedom. They will be taken back to the pack that captured them to become a slave. Marie's Father had to travel all across the land and talked other werewolves into joining forces with him.
They had no choice but to be well aware of what might befall them if they didn't agree to his request. A few of them joined while most didn't but then, they set up a camp and trained themselves ahead of what was bound to happen.
There was a man, in his thirties amongst them, he had not his wolf but yet was skilled enough to mow down others who already had their wolves. Everyone was well aware of his inability to use his wolf but was respected for his skills and strength.
It got to a time during a training session, The sat on the dusty ground underneath a tree with the sound of birds tweeting above his head. Water dropped down from the leaves onto his head. His eyes were closed and his legs crossed like he was meditating. Marie at that time was close by as she also took part in the training, though was young but her Father wouldn't allow her to play around with other kids, knowing she was going to need it.
Marie picked up a stick right in front of a tree and began to swing it in the air like she was fighting with the tree. She did it for a while but then the stick flew from her hands, she watched as if got flung into the air and fixed her eyes on it until it dropped on the man's head.
The Man opened his in response to the hit and sighted Marie who was standing only a few strides away from him. Marie shivered, judging by the expression on his face, he was greatly vexed. He got up from where he was and rushed to grab Marie. He yelled and that was the time his eyes shifted color. He was out of control and was about to smash Marie on the ground but her Father came to her rescue and calmed the Man.
The Man apologized for having lost control of himself. He made known to the pack that it wasn't the first time his eyes were going to shift their color whenever he was angered.
"My Mother got my wolf locked away, ... I've always lost control and she thought that with my wolf, I would be dangerous… I guess I'm better off without it," He answered, after being questioned by Marie's Father.
"If that's the case, who could have done this to me," Lucy questioned, breathing heavily.
She rubbed her fingers against her hair and looked up to face Marie.
"Marie, what do you think happens… I lost my Father and I don't know my Mother," She stammered.
"I'm never going to have my wolf… Why," She screamed and sobbed.
"Don't say that… You still have someone, Katherine," She suggested and placed her hand on her shoulder.
"You could just ask her… She was close to your Father before you lost him, She might have some answers,"
Lucy nodded her head and sniffed.
"I hope so," She coughed.
They both hurried back and picked up their spade when they noticed the guard who was overseeing them coming their way.
"You both can go, you're relieved," The guard ordered and hurried away.
They both glanced at themselves and looked away.
"I'm sorry…
"Enough of the apology… It's gone, you don't have to do that anymore and besides, I'm more concerned with finding the answers to my questions," She nodded her head and grinned with a deep sigh.
She turned to take her leave.
"Okay, Thank you," Marie smiled and watched as Lucy strolled away.
"That look, she was still angry… She might do something inappropriate… I must follow her," She concluded and took her leave.
"Now I've got so many questions… I knew it, what has Katherine been keeping from me?" She muttered, silently, questioning herself, her chest lingering upward and downward."I have got some answers no matter the cost," Lucy whispered, talking to herself as she trod down the hallway of the Royal residence with haste in an attempt to see Katherine. Her hands moved swiftly back and forth on either side. She rattled on with a few words in a low tone as she pressed on. The sweat on her face dripped down from her face and dropped on the cloth. It looked so dirty since her face was already caked in dust. Her whitish shirt was already stained and becoming brown. Her hair already changed its color like they were grey. Yet, she was less concerned about that. All she thought about was getting answers from Katherine. She turned her head a little bit and directed her eyes on the miles of wall that surrounded her. She noticed the shadow of one who seemed to be stalking her and since it was sunny
Marie held Lucy's hands and shook her consequently. "What's going on, Lucy, say something," Marie asked, her voice soft but filled with genuine concern.Lucy blinked, as if snapping out of a daze, and offered a weak smile."No, no, you don't look good… Your face, they look pale," Marie muttered, placing her hand on Lucy's arm while her other hand was behind her back."I'm just feeling a bit lightheaded," Lucy mumbled, her words tinged with uncertainty. Before Marie could question her and respond, Lucy's eyelids fluttered and her body slumped to the side, unconscious.Marie's heart raced as panic surged through her veins. She knelt beside Lucy, gently shaking her and calling her name, hoping for a response. She had nostalgic recollections of what might have caused her unconsciousness. She took a brief look at her face when she could not think of something and could see her face was already pale. "She must have passed out after stressing her wolf… since she forced it to show up, the
"Why're you standing in my way… Don't you hear the sound like someone has been listening to our conversation" Lucy grinnedMarie's eyes widened and bit her finger with her other arm around her chest. "Why are we still here anyways and don't look at me that way," Lucy dusted herself."You should take some break, you need it and you can't let your emotions out… You know what happens when you do that,... and, you're welcome," She paused and was about to continue with her words but was cut off when Lucy put a finger to her lips, signaling for silence.Lucy took a step forward and brushed Marie with her shoulder. "Did you hear that?""Hear what exactly?""A heartbeat… Wait, how come you don't hear that?""Oh! You're asking me now, I'm not the one whose ability was locked away, at least I know I won't be getting my wolf anytime soon and ...."Marie drifted into silence the moment she noticed Lucy's gaze on her. She grunted and looked away."I didn't mean that, I was only trying to get you
Lucy looked around in search for Katherine but could not find her. She inquired of her from every maids she came across but none of them could tell where she was, nor where she had gone to. Lucy became restless as negative thoughts came rushing down her mind. she shook her head swiftly and sat on a rock, determined to wait for her arrival and since there was nothing to be done at the moment after being relieved from her punishment, it was the best thing to do.She sat on a wooden chair and bowed her head, strands of her hair around her forehead. Her legs constantly shaking, tapping the ground consistently and producing a rhythm sound. She shifted the chair on which she sat on, her eyes darting over the space like a hummingbird flitting from blossom to flower. Her leg bounced with an uncontrollable amount of energy as she nervously drummed her fingers on her laps. She couldn't stay still for more than a few seconds, and it was obvious that she was impatient as she fidgeted, groaned,
Lucy's POVIn the softly lit room's hush, Katherine's words broke the silence, gently revealing the details of who I was. With each word, the room filled with the gravity of revelations, hinting at changes in how I saw myself and understood my life. The calmness of the room allowed her voice to weave a narrative that unfolded slowly, like the petals of a flower opening to the sunlight. In a quiet moment, Katherine, her voice adopted a gentle cadence tinged with a touch of apprehension, initiated a conversation with me."Lucy, it's time you learn the truth about your family and where you come from," She expressed, her gaze fixed on me.My eyes widened with curiosity as I took a deep breath in, more than ready to know the whole truth about myself. In that moment, a sense of expectation hung in the air and I could feel the anticipation building within me as I prepared to hear a story that held the potential to transform the core of who I thought I was."Mason," the name slipped from Kath
"Argh argghhhh," Lucy yelled as she ran with every strength she had got.As Lucy ran faster, she felt really scared. Fear made her heart beat faster and her body trembled. She wanted to escape so badly, feeling like she had to survive no matter what. Her heart raced as she dashed through the bushes. She could hear the other wolves chasing after her, their scary growls echoing through the woods. It reminded her how dangerous the situation was.Lucy was sweating a lot, and tears mixed with the dirt on her face. She kept running, even though she was getting really tired. Breathing was hard, and her legs felt heavy, like they might give out at any moment.Fear gripped her heart as she realized she was being pursued, the sound of snapping twigs and heavy panting growing louder with each passing moment. She turned her head to notice the wolves that were after her and could see they were closer than before. Their howls and growls grew louder as if they were ready to pounce on her the moment
Lucy hurried through the bustling field of the Moonshine pack, her heart pounding in her chest as she made her way back to the Royal residence where Isabella, the adopted daughter of the Alpha, resided. The events of the past few hours swirled through her mind like a whirlwind, leaving her feeling disoriented and on edge.As she approached the doorstep of Isabella, Lucy's steps faltered for a moment, her mind filled with apprehension at the thought of facing Isabella's wrath. She knew she had acted recklessly, disappearing for a few hours without reporting back to her post and without a word to anyone and she braced herself for the scolding she was sure to receive. But as she entered through the doorstep, her fears were realized when she came face to face with Isabella, who stood waiting for her with a stern expression on her face. "Lucy," she chided, her voice tinged with frustration, "where have you been? You know better than to wander off without permission."Lucy hung her head, u
With Alpha Eric standing in front of her, Lucy felt her heart drop to her stomach. She felt a chill run down her spine as his massive, menacing form stood tall in the doorway, his stern eyes locked on her.Lucy realized at that very instant that she was in serious jeopardy. Lucy," Alpha Eric's voice boomed, cutting through the silence like a thunderclap. "What is the meaning of this?"Lucy's throat went dry as she struggled to form a coherent response. She could feel the weight of his gaze bearing down on her, his piercing eyes seeming to bore into her very soul. She knew that she had to choose her words carefully, for any misstep could spell disaster."Alpha Eric," she began, her voice trembling slightly despite her efforts to maintain composure. "I... I was just..."But before she could finish her sentence, Alpha Eric's expression hardened into a mask of displeasure."Save your excuses, Lucy," he snapped, his voice cutting like a knife through the air. "I will not tolerate this act
