CHAPTER THREE

“You will fix her right now.” An enraged voice snapped.

“Yes Alpha, I will bandage her up and do my best. It's odd that she is healing so slowly. Even being an omega her healing should have helped the bruising on her rips and her ankle should be close to healed by now.” A delicate voice responded in confusion.

“I don't want excuses right now Meg. Do whatever you need to do to heal her. I can't stand my Mate being in pain. I have already failed to protect her. I won't continue to do so.” Vincent said sincerely.

“Of course Alpha, since you are her mate your blood should help with the healing process. Please have a seat and we will get the infusion going.”

Ada laid motionless on a medical cot the harsh white light showcased all her bruises and injuries. Because Vincent was blind he had commanded the pack doctor to tell him in detail what was wrong with her. Vincent didn't even know his mate's name yet but by the way the doctor described her beyond her injuries she was magnificent and it made him feel less because he could not just gaze upon her beauty himself.

Sitting down in a chair he rolled up his shirt sleeve and allowed the doctor to place a needle in his arm. He sat close enough that he could feel the warmth of her skin. Vincent had felt the presence of unknown wolves on his land and had quickly called his warriors to follow him. But he was surprised when he had smelt the most intoxicating scent to ever cross his path. Even though he was blind his other senses were ten times stronger.

He also hadn’t been born blind he had lost his sight when he had turned twelve. The process wasn't painful but he remembered training with his father and the world around him had started to turn blurry and then just blackness. Vincent had struggled with depression but his father wouldn't allow him to disappear. His father had just pushed him harder to train and become a good Alpha and he was ruthless in battle and never allowed this obstacle of sight to make him weak. He protected his pack and would make sure he protected his mate as well. Vincent wondered if she would reject him because he would never be able to fully claim her. Most mates recognized each other based on three things: Sight, touch and smell, but sight was the most important given that it was an instant soul connection that made bonding easier.

It seemed that he also had to deal with the fact that his mate was a rogue. Why was she really cast out from her old pack? It is not that he  cared that she was a rogue but he had a strong feeling that his mate had been abused.  Vincent  he had a strong dislike of Alpha Cole, he was a weak excuse for an Alpha and treated his pack like slaves rather than an extended family. Vincent was a strict yet fair Alpha who valued respect and loyalty he also gave it in return. Vincent swore if his mate had been treated poorly he would get justice for her as it was his right and he had no issue destroying Cole's pack to do so.

Vincent sensed some movement from the cot and sat forward. His mate groaned and shifted upwards.

“Where am I?” Ada questioned out loud and looked around the room she paused when she saw an older woman coming towards her. The woman was tall  with blond short hair and a gentle smile on her lips.

“Hi there my name is Meghan but everyone calls me Meg. I am the pack doctor and I have been treating your injuries. How are you feeling ms-?” she asked while holding a clipboard and pen.

“Oh, Ada is just fine and I feel okay, my body isn't sore anymore and my leg feels okay.” Ada answered with a small smile. “Thank you for treating my injuries.”

“Of course Mate you are safe here.” A deep musculan voice said to her right

Ada was surprised that the Alpha was still here and was still claiming her as his mate. Even though Ada felt safe with him, she wasn't sure if they were mates. She didn't feel the bond because she didn't have a wolf but the mating signs were there. When they had touch she did feel the warming shocks.

“I would like to talk with my mate in private.”

“Of course Alpha, please call me if you require assistance.” Meg said and left the room to give them some privacy.

Ada played with the hem of her dirty shirt and thought about what she needed to say. If they were mates it was clear that he would be rejecting her since she was a rogue and a Omega. This was a pain that Ada never thought she would have to experience. But now that she was, it hurt especial;y since 8her parents, the only family she knew, had thrown her away like trash.

Sitting straighter she turned towards him, “ I am grateful that you allowed me into your land for treatment but I won't stay longer than I am welcomed.”

“You are welcomed here as long as need be, you are my mate and it is my responsibility to take care of you.”

Ada flinched at his words knowing that he only wanted her here because they were mates and he felt some sick obligation to take care of her. But Ada knew that Alpha was only cold and uncaring it was all she knew.

“If you want to reject me please just do it and I will never bother you again.” She firmly replied

Vincent’s jaw clenched at her words and he stood up baring his teeth at her in anger, “Never say those words again! You are mine and I will not give you away. I know that I am not the most pleasant mate. But I am more than capable of caring for you.”  he stated

The pair stood in silence, the other not saying what they really wanted to say. Both hurt by the thought that their soulmate would never accept them because they were simply different.

“Are you tired or hungry?” he asked her.

“Yes, I could use a shower and something to eat.” She admitted her skin was crusted with mud.

“Okay then let's get you to my house and we can get you settled, then we can talk some more.” Vincent said while holding out his hand to her. Even though they weren't seeing eye to eye he still craved the comfort of her skin on his.

Looking at the offered hand Ada decided to take a leap of faith maybe they could work? Grabbing his hand she allowed him to lead her out of the room.
