Matthew and I shifted back into our human forms and quickly got dressed in some shorts.

We looked at the meat that we hunted and frowned when I noticed the small quantity.

"Don't you think this looks lesser than what we usually hunt?" he asked with a frown on his face.

"It's definitely lesser," I agreed. "This isn't even half of the meat that we hunted for the past few months. This is barely enough to feed everyone in the castle. Not to mention, we also have to dispatch some to the commoner’s grounds.”

"Hmm," Matthew hummed. "What's going to happen now?"

I sighed and massaged the bridge of my nose.

"I'll just buy some from the next kingdoms, but this shouldn't go on for a long time. We need to find the reason why our resources are currently depleting. We can't starve our people."

"You're right," he said. "This only started after you came back from the Belmont kingdom. Do you think they have something to do with this?" he asked.
