Chapter 46: Drowning

KEILAH

"Calm down," I said. "Let's just ignore the two of them, hmm?"

Enzo sighed and leaned his head against my shoulder.

"I know," he muttered under his breath. "But I wanted this time to just be for us. And here they come to ruin everything."

I bit my lip and thought of Miles. I thought he already gave up since he hadn't pestered me for the past few days, yet here he was again.

"It's not ruined yet," I assured. "We can still have fun even when they're here."

He sighed and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"I just hate the way Miles looks at you. I can tell that he wants to take you away from me," he muttered under his breath.

"I won't go to him at any cost," I said with conviction. "There's no way in hell that I'm going to choose him over you."

He lifted his head. "Thank you. I needed to hear that."

I lifted my hands and felt for his face. I placed them on the sides of his face and smiled.

"You trust me, right?" I asked.

"I do," he said. "It's Miles that I don't trust."
