I watched in fascination as Matthew looked at me with so much hunger in his eyes. Ever since we established just being "friends," the little innocent kisses we shared have halted and dialed down to mere hugs.

I'm not going to lie and say I don't miss them. Because frankly, I do.

I was hit by his scent moments later—Matthew's unique scent of mint and lavender was there, a bit overbearing on the nose. And I knew that it wouldn't take long before my pheromones were released to mingle with his scent.

I sat up from my bed and covered my body with the blanket—in hopes of hiding the redness of my body as well as masking my overly-sweet scent.

"How are you feeling?" I asked in a wary voice. "Are you really in your rut?"
