Elly The powder Darren used was unlike anything Elly experienced before. It burned her nose and throat with every breath. At first, she barely noticed his lips crashing into hers. Elly The fire roared around the house. The barrier blocked them from touching the house but it did very little for stopping the heat. Sweat beaded on Elly’s forehead as it was beginning to get more difficult to breathe. Smoke pressed against the barrier, thankfully, unable to get through to them. “I don’t know how much longer I can maintain the barrier,” Darren said through gritted teeth. “We have to do something, fast.” Sweat poured down his chest. Elly Everything happened so fast that it was a blur. With a deafening crack, the door flew off the hinges and broke apart as it hit the back of the couch. A large brown wolf stepped into the basement. Its large teeth were bared and the thick smoke rolling in around it made the low growl more menacing. Darren stepped forward dragging Elly with him.
