Chapter 21

VIOLET’S POV

I didn’t realize how exhausted I was until I had to step out of the car. While I still had my eyes on the building in front of me, I felt a hole bore into my head. I turned to find Cecil fixedly staring at me, as if he was waiting for me to come to my senses. The stare was intense and I couldn’t help but feel pulled towards him. Sensing that, I pulled on my jacket nervously and then forced my lips into a tight smile.

“Nice place you have here.” I said, pointing to nowhere in particular.

He nodded, then gestured for me to follow him. “You haven’t seen anything yet.” He glanced over for a moment before facing forward again. “You’ll love it more if you see the inside.” He said, walking towards the front door.

My insides twisted; nerves tangling and butterflies taking flight. I was nervous and excited at the same time but I couldn’t help but wonder why I was brought to the pack house when I could have been lodged somewhere less fancy. I was just here to train after all. Or ma
