Avery's POV

"Wasn't that what you have always wished for? Can you swear an oath that you didn't feel honored when you heard me refer to you as my fiancee? Come on, come off that crap! We both know you have been praying for this." I flared up, avoiding eye contact with her.

I didn't know what else to say to her, instead I tried to cover up everything and try to make it look like she was the one at fault. She had been the same person pestering me all these while to make everything going on between us formal, which I tried to do in the meeting. Why then was she acting up all of a sudden, as if she was no longer interested to be referred to as my fiancee?

Before she could say anything else, I walked out of her sight and went downstairs to phone my friend, Luke, because I could literally no longer bear the heat she had just ignited.
