Doubt lingered in Bella's eyes. "Avery, I didn't mean to go through your things, I couldn't shake off the feeling or idea that he wants to work with you and is willing to right his wrong. Some people like him don't go down that easily without a fight. I also found out about Henry's shady past. Are you sure he can be trusted?"

Avery sighed, "I know he has a history, but people change. I believe in giving second chances. We can't let the past define us. I can't remember much after the incident and don't know of my relationship with him but I decided to give him a chance.

As the conversation unfolded, Bella's skepticism persisted, yet she chose to trust Avery, for now. However, a nagging feeling compelled her to dig deeper, a determination to uncover the truth.

Avery bade her farewell, took his briefcase and walked off to his waiting vehicle as he drove off for work. He hasn't initiated any closeness since yesterday's incident and doesn't want to seem insecure or forceful to Bella.

Henry
