33. When it Rains, it Pours

Elisa gave her statement and gave officer Steve as much information as possible. But she knew it wouldn't be easy to find Gerald. He was angry and aggressive, but he wasn't stupid. He knew how to avoid conflicts. And now that he found Elisa and her daughter, he wouldn't give up on them easily. He would come back to hurt them.

Anya left after comforting her some more, so Elisa was all alone with Ansel again.

Ansel had been acting differently since last night. He was distant. He didn't make any sly comments or sexual innuendos since she told him about her past. Elisa couldn't help but feel disappointed. Maybe he couldn't look at her the same anymore and lost interest. She figured it was going to happen sooner or later.

Later that night, she put Audre to sleep and went outside. She had to think of a way to get out of this mess. She couldn't go back to that apartment as Gerald could come back. Should she go stay at her father's house? But Gerald knew where he lived
