As the armed men filed into the room, the head of the team said into the Bluetooth on his ear, "Boss, we've found her." With that, his attention returned to Jason, who had gotten off the bed and was standing calmly on the side, seemingly unaffected by the imminent danger.

In no time, Wayne dashed into the room, pushing his men aside as he stood in front of the scene. His gaze anxiously darted around the room until it fell upon Kaylar, who was lying on the bed, looking pale and weak. Jason had picked up the table knife he had thrown on the floor earlier, and now he placed the knife against Kaylar's neck. His eyes glinted with a twisted amusement.

Wayne couldn't contain himself. "Let her go, Jason," he warned, his voice low and demanding.

"Why should I?" Jason retorted, increasing the pressure on his hand, causing the knife to cut into Kaylar's throat slightly. A small trickle of blood began to ooze from her flesh, and she winced in pain.
