Chapter Six

Luna’s POV

I woke from my sleep by the banging on my hotel door, I took a look at my phone and see it is 7.10pm, “SHIT” I say as I jump off the bed. I’m meant to be ready for 7.00pm, Carrie had booked us a table in the restaurant downstairs. I scurry to the door as I wipe the sleep from my eyes, I open it to find Carrie looking as stunning as ever. This girl never fails to amaze me, she always looks so glamourous.

“What the hell are you doing, our table is booked for 7pm and you’re not even ready” she says looking annoyed.

“I laid down for 5 minutes, I must have fell asleep, the next thing I know is it’s 7.10, I’m sorry I’ll quickly get ready now” I say.

“Ok but be quick, I’ll go down to the table and get the drinks in while you get ready, don’t be long” she replied as she walked out of the room.

I quickly showered and returned to the bedroom pulling all my clothes from my suitcase, I hadn’t even unpacked yet.

I decided to go with a black strapless jumpsuit with slightly flared legs which complimented my figure, luckily everything was folded perfectly so I didn’t have to iron it which would save me some time. I applied my makeup adding a little golden eyeshadow and black eyeliner, I finished it off with a touch of blusher to my cheeks and red lipstick. I avoided getting my hair wet in the shower so I could save more time, I hurried to turn on the hair straighteners and used them to add a little wave to my hair.

It’s amazing how much self-care women give themselves before going out. I quickly slipped on my gold open toed heels and grabbed my gold hand bag to match, throwing my phone and purse into my bag I took one last glance in the mirror and rushed out the door.

Two men stood in the elevator as I walked in, they both appeared handsome however one had a scar on the left side of his face, the other was wearing a gold chain around his neck.

I could feel their eyes on me.

“he is one lucky man” says the guy with the scar.

I felt a little uncomfortable so I gave a small smile and turned away avoiding eye contact, hoping they didn’t converse anymore with me. Thankfully the elevators in this place were faster than previous ones I have been in. The doors opened and I began to walk towards the restaurant, I noticed the name of the restaurant was called Olives, I do love olives I thought smiling to myself. As I walked past reception I noticed the young girl behind the desk staring at me, I gave her a small smile to which she responded “you look stunning”.

“Thank you” I replied.  She seemed sweet.

I walked through the doors to Olives, this place was incredibly busy. There was a sign reading ‘please wait to be seated’ however all the waiters appeared to be too busy to seat anyone, they were rushing around showing other people to their seats and serving food while I stood watching. I began looking around for Carrie, if I could find her then I could make my own way to my seat. I looked over to the far top left of the room, I could see couples and groups of people at their tables enjoying their food but no Carrie. I turned further to the left and I suddenly paused, I felt the air get stuck in my lungs as I met those beautiful eyes once more. Omg, its him, the guy who was stood waiting for the elevator when I first arrived and he was staring right back at me. I was now wondering how long he was staring at me before I noticed him. Suddenly I heard my name being called “Luna” I pulled my gaze away from his and let out the air I had been holding back, I looked over to the right, Carrie was waving me over. I turned and began walking towards her.

“7.25, you did get ready quick, I got you an espresso martini” she said joyfully.

I took my seat at our table and as it turns out I just so happened to be facing the man who is still staring right at me. I couldn’t help but look back at him and with his eyes on me I couldn’t help but feel my cheeks redden, it’s a good job I wore blusher I thought to myself.

“I knew you’d appreciate that seat, they tried to sit us in the corner but when I saw lover boy over there I knew you’d much prefer this table”. I rolled my eyes at Carrie’s comment as she let out a little chuckle.

I took a sip of the most tasty espresso martini I have had in a long time, just then a beautiful young lady came over with a name tag which read Sarah, she looked extremely flustered.

”what can I get you” she asked.

I quickly scanned the menu and ordered skewered prawns for starters and chicken alfredo for the main course. Carrie decided to go for the same starter but chose the scallops for the main course.

The food was undeniably beautiful, although at times I felt quite conscious eating knowing someone had their eyes on me through most of the meal. I really need to learn of his name I thought to myself.

I was about to stand as I needed to use the restroom when the young waitress Sarah approached us holding what appeared to be an extremely expensive bottle of champaign.

“Oh, we didn’t order champaign” I said.

“No, it’s a gift from Mr Callaso” she replied.

“I’m sorry who?” I asked. I didn’t know a Mr Callaso

“Mr Callaso, the gentleman sat at table five, he’s an important guest of ours, he stays in the penthouse suite” Sarah said has she nodded in the direction of the gentleman.

I followed her eyes as she looked right at him, Mr Callaso so that’s his name, well his surname, at-least I knew that much.

“Can you please tell Mr Callaso that MISS Luna Blake and her friend Carrie said thank you for the champaign, it is very much appreciated” Carrie says as she takes the champaign from Sarah’s hands, I also didn’t miss the way Carrie made it totally clear that I was indeed a ‘Miss’.

I watched Sarah as she walked towards Mr Callaso’s table, he now appeared to be deep in conversation with a man sat right in front of him. I could see Sarah approach his table and it looked like she was apologising for interrupting, I couldn’t make out exactly what she was saying to Mr Callaso but he turned his gaze towards me and stared for a few seconds before turning back to Sarah to speak a few words before she went back to doing her job.

I finally stood to go to the restroom when I realised I would have to walk past Mr Callaso’s table to get to where I need to be, Oh Fuck, I thought as I began to feel nervous. Why was he making me feel this way.
