Chapter 16. Father's apologies.

Anita stretched and yawned ceaselessly as she sat on the sofa, tired and unable to check the popular gist again. She closes her laptop after turning it off and gets up to sleep on the bed she shares with Glory, exhausted.

Her mother sells provisions and cosmetics in her shop, which she rarely visits because she is either in school or at home cooking, and she knows her mother's provision store isn't big enough and won't be able to meet all of their needs if her father eventually goes cashless, as the bank her father works with has threatened to freeze his bank account if the fraudulent activity discovered isn't resolved.

Anita groaned and went on the bed to join Glory in sleeping, praying silently in her heart to get a better job so that she could support all of her siblings, parents, and herself before finally falling asleep.
