Chapter 37. Mother's queries

Anita had already walked into the room that she shares with Glory, not stopping in their living room either, because she was so upset by her mother's statements.

Her mother may be both amusing and aggravating at times, and she doesn't want to get offended.

Anita removes her mother's large white-colored gown, which she wore to work, and is left in her underwear and bra when her mother opens her room door and walks in.

"Anita, what has come over you?" Mrs. Tonia questions.

"Mom." Anita turns to face her mother.

"Why did you walk out on us?" Mrs. Tonia Baker asks again, folding her arms across her chest. She shakes her head and goes to sit on her daughter's bed.

"Mom, I did not leave you. I need to freshen up," Anita admits.

"You are still lying, even in my presence. What do you mean by "CEO's father"? You mentioned something linked to him."

"I know, mother; I was only saying that his father actually collected my phone number."

"To do what?!?" Mrs. Tonia interrupted Anita.
