"Is that a hickey?"

Mark asked, getting up from the chair he had been sitting in only a moment earlier and holding the nearly empty paper cup of coffee in his hand.

"How come?"

Monica spoke incoherently for a moment before turning to face Mark, who was staring her in the neck. It was then that she realized she had neglected to conceal the mark William had given her in order to trick his grandfather.

“Oh, shit!" Her hand moved to a neck before resting it on the imprint, fumbling, "This is not what you imagine."

"Do my opinions matter to you?"

Mark questioned with a smirk on his lips as he noticed Monica becoming uneasy, her throat swallowing while she tried to convince Mark that it wasn't a hickey, but she didn't really need to explain it.

“No, but I do not want you to presume something else and disseminate this to Hanson, and then other people will start talking about it, even though it is not what you are thinking."
