Chapter 28

Mrs Edgar sighed in frustration, feeling a mix of irritation and worry. She ended the call.

"Where could Gael be?" she wondered aloud, pacing back and forth in her room.

Unable to shake off her anxiety, Mrs Edgar picked up her phone and called Gael's number, hoping he would pick up. The phone rang and rang, but there was no response from Gael.

"Won't you take your call?" Elma asked Gael as she saw his phone beep.

"No, it's my mum and I know what she wants to say. We're almost home so no need." Gael said, his eyes fixated on the road.

Her worry intensified as Geal wasn't taking his calls so she decided to take matters into her own hands. Mrs Edgar stood up from her bed, determined to find her son. She quickly put on her night robe and headed downstairs.

"Linda! What time did you say my son left the house?" Mrs Edgar called out to Linda, her voice filled with urgency.
