Mrs. Edgar dropped her phone on the bed, her frustration evident, and walked toward the bedstand to grab the landline. She wasn't one to tolerate delays, and Linda's tardiness was testing her patience.

As she picked up the receiver and dialed Linda's extension, her tone was laced with sarcasm, "Linda, do I need to come pick up the pancakes myself? I could do that, you know?"

Linda, understanding the gravity of the situation, immediately apologized for her delay. "I'm sorry for the delay, ma'am. I'll be right there with your tea and pancakes," she assured.

"Sorry for yourself, dear," Mrs. Edgar retorted, ending the call, not mincing words as she expressed her annoyance.

Not long after, Linda gently knocked on Mrs. Edgar's bedroom door. "Come in already," Mrs. Edgar responded, her frustration still simmering.
