Chapter 26

Gael stood up from his desk in his study and wore his jacket.

As he grabbed his cellphone and headed out of the study, Linda, the housekeeper, called after him. "Sir, are you going somewhere?" she inquired, curious about his sudden departure.

Gael turned to face Linda, his expression serious yet composed. "Yes, if my Mom gets back, tell her I stepped out for a bit, and I'll be back soon," he instructed.

Without waiting for any further questions, Gael headed out of the house, his mind set on reaching Elma as quickly as possible.

The night air wrapped around him, heightening his senses as he got into his car and started the engine. He typed in Elma's address, the one she had texted him earlier, and set his GPS to guide him to her location.

As the car pulled away from his home, Gael found himself lost in a whirlwind of emotions.
