Chapter 49 - Whispers of the Wind: Unraveling the Truth
The wind that evening was completely soundless, it slipped on the tightly glassed window like a ballerina on the ice rink. The water in the kettle started to boil but Melany had forgotten to put on a whistle and the steam quickly covered the cupboards with fat drops of hot water.
It did not catch Melany’s attention as she sat down with Bianca in their tiny so-called living room. Melany’s heart was heavy with the weight of the truth she had kept hidden for so long.
