Megan’s POV.

The knock came again, interrupting our conversation.

I turned my head swiftly to see the physician entering the room, a grave expression etched on his face.

Instantly, a sense of foreboding washed over me, and I braced myself for the news he was about to deliver.

A sense of apprehension settled in the air, thickening it with an unspoken tension. Something was definitely amiss.
