Ava kept quiet for a while after replying the man as she needed few seconds to calm her already raging heart. She had tried her best to keep calm but the mockery of the man had triggered her emotions and she wished to curse them! " I like your answer. It greatly impressed me and to be sincere, the loyalty and the ambition in it makes me happy. " Mr. Olive replied as his lips curved into a big smile. He wrote something on the form in front of him and nodded at the men sitting beside him " What more do you have to say?" He asked and it was Ava's turn to smile. Ava placed her two hands on her belly and bowed a little with a sweet smile on her face. " I will be glad if you will accept me as your secretary. Like I already said, my only dream is to be a Secretary and if you want my help with some designs, I'm surely the best in that. It's written in my resumes that I have a talent in making designs and this~" She opened her bag and brought out a file. It was a file that contained
Ava was glad when she heard Fred's words. She was anxious about what the result would be but hearing one of the directors words made her mind relaxed and she flashed a pretty smile~ " Thank you very much." She said and bowed a little. Amy nodded her head and slapped Fred's back " Thanks guy!" She mumbled and they both chuckled. She turned to look at Ava and winked. " Miss Secretary, shall we leave now?" She asked playfully and Ava nodded with her hands on her cheeks. " Bye Fred. I have a meeting to attend in an hour time." Amy told Fred and they shared one last hug before she grabbed Ava's hand and they both walked toward her car. " Hope you are alright? I saw your holding your chest when I parked in front of you then." Amy asked as she opened the car for Ava to enter. " Let's enter and talk." Ava replied. She stepped into the car and sat down while Amy walked to the other side and sat down too. " Being in front of those big wings made me a bit uncomfortable and th
Ava sat beside her mother in law with a sweet smile on her face. It had been weeks since she last saw them and she missed them. " I'm fine mum. You didn't tell me you will be coming around." She muttered and her eyes danced around the couples faces. Harvey's father chuckled. " Sorry my dear. We wanted to surprise you but we didn't know you won't be at home. Where have you been?" He asked calmly and his wife nodded. Ava smiled. She dropped the bag that was on her shoulder and sighed. " I was out with my friend because I was too bored at home. Harvey is always at work and he hardly comes home during the day. " She lamented and her face turned dull as if she was really suffering because of Harvey's nonchalant attitude. Harvey raised a brow and opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something but a look from his father shut his mouth and he could only look on helplessly while Ava kept acting out and lamenting to his parents how hard she hardly see his face and how busy
Ava scrambled over to her bed and took a duvet to cover herself up! Her mouth hung open and her eyes were filled with shock! She hadn't expected that Harvey would enter her room without knocking and the fact was that he had never entered her room before! He never for once set his foot into her room before and the first time he was going to do that, he did it in a way that Ava hated! " Why didn't you knock before entering?! You knew it a girl's room and I have the right to do anything in my room!" She yelled with anger in her voice as she struggled to cover her body properly with the duvet. Harvey was momentarily stunned too but he soon mustered up his courage and entered the room. He closed the door behind him and let out a deep breathe. " I don't see anything wrong in entering my wife's room without knocking. Have you forgotten that we are married? Don't you remember that your body became mine the moment you became my wife?" He questioned as he moved over to her
Ava was disappointed! She wanted more and she had expected him to go all the way but he just had to stop mid way and tell her to sleep? Like... who does that? She couldn't open her mouth to say a word and just watched as Harvey removed his wristwatch, put off his singlet and removed his belt. He did everything slowly without bothering to look at Ava who was staring at him with sadness in her eyes. He put off his trouser and he was only left with his boxer as he walked toward the bathroom leisurely. " That jerk! Why is he so heartless and emotionless? He puts me on and just stopped like that? What kind of punk does that to a chaste girl?!" She was annoyed. She felt like beating the hell out of Harvey to teach him a lesson never to mess with her like this again but she just couldn't control her body. She felt tired and energetic at the same time. She felt angry and excited at the same time. It was a mixed feeling that she couldn't comprehend but there was nothing sh
Ava refused to say a single word as she closed her eyes. Her throat felt sore and her heart ached. She forced herself to sleep and thankfully, Harvey left her to sleep without asking any more questions which greatly pleased her. Ava passed through the night without much trouble and before she knew it, it was morning already! She opened her eyes only to realize that Harvey was no longer in the room and she breathed in relief. What he did to her last night was still fresh in her mind and she felt uncomfortable seeing him. Her face turned red the moment the memories flashed back into her brain and she hid herself under the duvet. She wanted to close her eyes and sleep a bit longer but everything got washed down the basin the moment she heard a knock on the door. " Who is that?' She cried with displeasure hidden in the core of her voice. " My dear, It's me." She heard the voice at the other end of the door and her closed eyes opened immediately as she jump
" Wow! I should be expecting that soon then!" Mrs. Dankworth rejoiced and danced happily. She waved to the two and pushed them into the room. " Go and continue with the process. Your dad and I will be leaving for now. " she said and closed the door on them. She waited by the door for a minute before turning her back to leave as she was done with whatever she was doing by the door. Her face was full of delight and her smile was genuine. She was beaming with so much happiness that anyone around her could get infected with it!. " What was that?" Ava asked as soon as she heard Mrs. Dankworth climbing down the steps. Harvey shrugged and walked toward the table at the center of his room. He dropped his phone and the cup of coffee he was holding. " I only said what I was supposed to say. Was that wrong of me?" He muttered and walked over to the bed where his trouser had been placed neatly on his pillow. Ava was baffled. How could he be so relaxed after saying what he said
The drive to the hospital Ava's mother was admitted in was full of tension as Ava refused to say a word but the air in the car already turned heavy and Lewis could feel it. He could feel that Ava wasn't as happy as she was before she entered the car and it somehow bothered him. He thought about calling Harvey for a moment to explain to him about his wife's sudden change of mood but he knew Harvey wouldn't care and he might even scold him for disturbing him with silly report! Lewis took a deep breathe as he entered the hospital compound and parked the car. " We are here." He said after a minute hesitation as he knew Ava was already lost in thought. Ava had no idea they were already in the hospital not until she heard Lewis's word and she batted her eyes. She looked around and let out a deep breathe when she realized it was indeed true. Her heart raced faster than ever. She was nervous, she was scared. She wasn't strong enough to face whatever was inside of she woul
