CHAPTER 31 - The Naked Truth

Athena's POV

I went upstairs and entered my bathroom right off the bat. I started to turn on the heater and took a shower in the desperate hope of soothing my disturbing thoughts and nerves. I closed my eyes tightly, inclined to relish the warmth of the water on my skin.

The sight of the man with a stolen heart continues to haunt me. I absolutely cannot fathom how anyone could bear inflicting that monstrosity on him and Janet.

That's when I started to hear something.

I blinked my eyes open and ended up turning off the heater. I listened carefully, having trouble remembering whether I had securely double-locked my front door.

I glanced up as the light in my bathroom started to flicker while I was thinking so hard.
