We got back home quickly, after we dropped off a sleeping Penny to her parents I carried a sleeping Nicholas to his room. Setting his bags down in his room I wake him enough so he could change into his pjs and get himself into bed. I bid him goodnight and closed the door. I slipped into our room and was slightly taken aback by my mate. I could feel an overwhelming sadness starting to creep into our bond and I noticed she was looking at the calendar app on her phone.
I guess she heard me because suddenly she locked her phone and turned to smile at me. Just like that our bond turned calm, relaxed. “Nick go to bed?”
“Uh, yeah.” I blink. “What were you looking at?”
“Oh. Um, just looking at the date. I can’t believe it's already December.” She smiled again. “And the weather is going to turn really cold and dreary soon, it’s a bit...depressing.”
