Chapter 45
Shane wanted to hit his head after hearing what his mother asked. He was aware that his mom was a fan of romance plot scenes, and he could understand it whenever she started exaggerating at times when there was something ‘romantic’ going on but, what made him frustrated most was his mother’s ignorance towards their actual situation.
At first, Shane was only planning to keep Audrey awake for a while and have her talk to him, but he didn’t expect that his childishness was nothing compared to hers. He knew that hugging her was surprising and was not his intention but Shane wanted to blame it to his ‘reflexes’ to save his ego. And he believed that anyone would do the same thing when the room suddenly turned so cold and unbearable.

A week had passed and Audrey became more distant. Shane was glad that she was cooperating but her silence made him feel that something wasn’t right. The actor would usually spend his time during the day sitting on the couch alone in the living room just like what he was currently doing or strolling outside the house but within the estate.
