The sound of heels echoed throughout the passage.

{“Who killed my mother?”, Zoey asked one more time.

“Alexander Griffin.”, Edward stated as he handed her the file.}

She thought of what Edward told her the other night as she sat back and was given a blood transfusion, it took a long time for her body to get used to the blood transfusion.

“Why did a millionaire kill my mother?” Zoey asked after reading Alex’s file and handing it back to Edward.

“That’s what your father wanted to know too.”, Edward stated as he pressed his palm against the wall, opening the passage again.

“What stopped him?”, she asked as she followed closely behind him.

Edward took some time as he was hesitant to respond at first.

“You. He could not dive deeper into the situation in case you get hurt. He made a big sacrifice and that’s where I come in. I want to fulfill what he couldn’t do and make the two of you proud.”, Edward stated. “If I suggest you help me, he would never allow that.”
