Chapter 69

Samantha POV

It has been a week since I stayed at the castle. Ate has been acting so weird. I havent seen or talked to him since that night. Mark hasnt even picked up any of my calls. This morning when I opened up my windows I saw a van outside my house. It is starting to get on my nerves, so I did the only thing I could think of.

I snuck out the back of the house and made my way to the castle. I need to know what is going on.

I get to the gates and it looks like every guard in the kingdom is stationed around the wall.

"Hi, may I please enter? The king is expecting me." I talk to the first guard I see.

"I am sorry mam. No one is allowed to enter the castle without a formal invitation." I look at him in disbelief.

"Do you know who I am? I am the king's mate. Let me enter." The guard starts laughing. I feel the anger rising. How does he not know who I am? Did Ate not tell them who I am to him.
