Theo POV

I wasn’t sure what to do, it was like time was standing still. My father could sense the anger coming from Roni. She did not want him touching her, I could tell she had extreme reservations. For once in my life my father was trying to help. He allowed her to come here to protect her, for me. Surely, he meant she was too important to me.

               Roni was the first to move, placing her hand on my father’s wrist. My body tensed at the contact, no one touched the king. His eyes went wide as I watched him carefully. It was all unfolding in slow motion. She pulled his hand back from her face a few inches.

               “I did not give you permission to touch me. I appreciate your hospitality, do not think that my gratitude is without limits.” She said coldly into his eyes.
