I shouldn’t have let her go with Addison but I stood there and watched her leave with a woman with mental instability, she might hurt my wife again and this time, I will be the one to be blamed.

“Xavier, son, please sit down. You are worrying yourself. I know Adeline, she doesn’t make same mistake twice. She’ll be back soon.” Susan who was sitting in the living room with me, said.

I was pacing too and fro, it’s almost an hour, I decided to call her but then I thought she needs her privacy. My heart was telling me that something was about to happen and it’d not be very good, at least not for me.

“Susan, I am going to call her now.” I said to her and about to dial Adeline’s number when my phone flashed an unknown number. My heartbeats raced. However, I picked the call and went a little far from Susan.

“Hello, Xavier Linwood here, who is speaking and how did you get my private number?” I asked before the other person could say anything but I heard siren wails in the background
