31. Too bad to be true

EMILY POV

I felt suffocated as I walked back to my office in shame. Everything was not working in my favor. My own husband even ridiculed me before his board of executives.

As I walked past the employees and they bowed to me, I could hear them whisper about my humiliation. I went into my office and shut myself in.

I kept working on other aspects of the expansion project without leaving the office. When I noticed it was lunch break, I stepped out of the office and went to the last floor to get coffee.

Then I suddenly started craving cooked meals. I made to leave the company then Leo appeared from his private elevator with Jude. I looked away from his direction but Jude's voice prompted me to give him a glance.

"Hi, Emily," Jude said.

"Hello, Jude," I said, then stole a glance at Leo.

He avoided my gaze and focused on the entrance as a few men with their bodyguards walked into the building.

"Hola buenas tardes, Vincent," Leo said, embracing his guest and shaking their hands.
