32. Reminiscence

EMILY POV

"I'm not drunk!" I exclaimed and laughed loudly. He could instantly tell that I was drunk so he ended the call.

I pouted my lips and kept blabbing nonsense till he showed up at the police station.

"She's my wife," he said, rushing to my side and checking my temperature. "Damn it! You're such a pain in the ass," he yelled.

"She has to pay the parking violation and DWI fine. She might even be charged to court and lose her driver's license," the police officer said.

"You promised to help me whenever I needed your help. You wouldn't dare do that to me," I replied and laughed.

The police officer was the same man who had been helping me investigate Max's case. He stared at me with pitiful eyes and sighed.

"She must be facing a lot. I hope she gets peace someday," the police officer said and sighed once again.

Leo glared at him as he spoke. He was confused about the situation as he held me while I rubbed my hair on his chest. I snuggled to him and placed my hands around his neck.
