Jade followed Vladek upstairs without asking much. She kept behind him, surreptitiously looking to the sides, checking the enormous number of people who were in the inn and who did not remember the first day they had arrived. Above all, it was the result of the way some of them dressed, covered with thick dark brown fabrics and weapons hanging on their backs or hips. She frowned in concern, hoping it was just her paranoia.
