Cordelia again? Poor Aria.
ARIA'S POVI still felt sore and discomfort, both from the purging and the tea Cordelia intentionally spilled on my laps. What exactly did I do to her?A knock on my door rang through the air. "Come in!" I called out. The door opened, and Alpha Anthony walked in. He walked over to me, standing by my bedside. His eyes were kind as he looked at me."How do you feel?" He asked softly. I shrugged my shoulders. "No pain, just a little discomfort.""Okay. Cordelia said you had woken up and taken the tea."You mean the tea I had to remake by myself after she had poured it on my laps? Yeah. I did. "Yeah, I have." Another knock on the door. "Come in." Claire came in with a tray of food. She really knew what I needed at the moment."You need to eat. After that, we move on to the second thing on our list," Anthony said. This is the second item on our list. "What's that?""You'll know when you see it. See you at the field by four p.m. Claire would escort you there."Escort me? What exactly is h
ARIA'S POV"Welcome, young one." Ina greeted, like she hadn't seen me just yesterday. I gave her a smile, squaring my shoulders.I need to get myself purged of this poison, no matter what. I allowed Ina to strap me to the chair.I'm going to endure this, no matter what. Lady Ina begins her incantations, and then the pain comes flooding in. I have to become stronger. I have to endure. I am Aria Alpha of the Nightfang Pack, and I will take back what is mine. I will take back all that I've lost.***Thirty minutes later***Lady Ina initiates an ancient healing dance called "terakjux." A dance according to history, performed by messengers of good spirits of health, healing, and long life to sanctify their territory and ward off evil. In some cases, they perform the dance to invite the terakjuxans, the spirits of health, healing, and long life, to heal their patients.***Forty five minutes***Aria hold on. You can do it. Think of good things you swore to never forget. Anything***One hour*
THIRD PERSON POV"Baby, today we will be meeting the council by 2 p.m. to let them know of your upcoming coronation. This will finalize and solidify all the preparations." Logan said as he and Darcy were having breakfast. One could clearly see the satisfaction and joy emanating from Darcy's eyes. You could clearly tell how happy she was."Okay, I'll get ready and meet you and the elders by two p.m.""See you then. I love you.""I love you too."Immediately after Logan was out of sight, Darcy burst into heartfelt laughter that made Selena shudder from where she stood, waiting to escort her mistress back to her quarters.Just by the looks in Selena's eyes, it was clearly easy to see and tell how she felt being the maid of Darcy after her former mistress Aria had been kicked out. The smoke in her eyes spoke volumes about how she disliked Darcy. But of course, as a maid, all you have to do is serve your mistress. Old or new.As Darcy stood from the table and got to the door of the dining
ARIA'S POVDay ten! I reminded myself, with joy flowing through my veins. Five more days to go. I whispered, stirring the tea in front of me. I had finally decided to make the tea for myself from when I could complete my purging session without losing consciousness from the pain.Five more days left for me to take my rightful place. Five days left to deal with Logan and Darcy. Just thinking of him caused a stir of emotions in my heart. Love, hurt, pain, betrayal, and then, tears again! Why in the world am I even crying? He doesn't deserve my tears. These were the words I used to console myself, knowing fully well that my heart still ached even with the slightest thought of him."You need to sleep, Aria." My brain keeps telling me.***One pm***Doesn't Alpha Anthony have books here? I need something to keep me busy till it's time for my training. The word training brought back memories of yesterday, during my training with Alpha Anthony, how he had once again beaten me as easily as a c
ANTHONY'S POV"What's the current status of the pack, Elijah?" I asked my beta as we were nearing the end of our meeting going on in my study."The borders are safe, no intrusion so far, we lack nothing, both in food, daily necessities, weapons, warriors, and servants." Elijah recited as if he had spent all night memorizing it. "Here are all the bookkeepers' details and reports."I glanced at the numbers. They looked good—really good. "Okay. What else?" I asked"We also..." Elijah's voice became a background sound as I sensed something that made me tense up.The secret library! I thought, rising to my feet and almost knocking over the table Elijah and I were working with."Alpha Anthony?" I could hear Elijah calling out to me, but I had to find out who was in there at this time of the night and how whosoever that had got in."Continue working. Make sure to draft out all we need to do before the month runs out. I'll be back soon." I said, walking away from the work table. "Yes sire."
ARIA'S POV"Aria? What are you doing here at this hour?"I turned slowly to face Anthony, as if I hadn't just been snooping around, picking a random book to make it look like I had been reading. I snapped the book shut and smiled up at him. "Good evening, Alpha Anthony. I was just reading."He looked around, as if he were searching for someone. "How did you find the library?" He turned to me, and his brow furrowed a bit. "I don't remember asking anyone to show it to you.""Oh, you know," I said with an awkward laugh. "The things that boredom makes you do! I found it myself." I said the last part, a deadpan look on my face. Anthony's brow relaxed. "You are supposed to be in your room.""Yes, I am. But I was too bored with the cancellation of the training this evening, I couldn't just sit and do nothing.""So you divided to explore, is that it?""Perfectly correct." I said, looking to see if there would be a reaction of any sort. There was none. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
ARIA'S POVI woke up the next day feeling uneasy and curious about that secret library. What exactly could that place hold. I wasn't able to explore as much as I wanted to, thanks to the interruption of some people.Should I go back? The curiousity was killing me. I felt like I was being attracted to that place. I felt like it was calling me. But why? Why do I feel this way?I have to go back there. I have to. After the purge and tea, I read my lifesaver and took off to the library around few minutes past one. I walked cautiously, trying my best to make as little noise as possible. Finally, I got to the library. It was the shelf two shelves after the door on the farther right side of the library. I traced the shelf, tracing my height to where the book I pushed in was. When I finally found the book, I pushed it in, watching the shelf turn.I was still where I stood. Then I realized that the floor space an inch away from the shelf was also part of the shelf, so it always turns with it.
ARIA'S POVWhere I got my boldness to speak to Cordelia in such a manner, I don't know. But one thing was for sure: I was no longer afraid of her. She had to be humiliated to know what humiliation feels like and to learn to behave herself.Looking at the archive between the books in my hand, I wondered why it was handwritten and what exactly it held. Walking towards the seat at the window, I sat down and began to read. A documentation that was never recorded in the history books. I had never heard or read of this in all my life, so how does this make sense? Why does Alpha Anthony have this with him? Was that his reason for building the secret library? To hide this?***Day thirteen***All through the night, I had been restless. I only managed to get a little sleep by six a.m. this morning, and now, half past seven, I'm awake again.I got up wanting to read what I had read all over again just to be sure that I wasn't imagining things, but the courage to face the truth, I just couldn't
