Liam couldn't shake off the feeling of shock and disbelief that consumed him after uncovering his great-great-grandfather's dark secrets. He spent the next few days lost in thought, often forgetting to eat or sleep, much to Penelope's concern.

"Please, Liam, you need to sleep," Penelope pleaded one morning as she noticed him staring blankly at his breakfast. "You're going to make yourself sick."

Liam sighed and pushed his plate away. "I can't stop thinking about it, Pen. How could someone do such terrible things to their own kind?"

"I don't know, love," Penelope said, rubbing his back comfortingly. "But dwelling on it won't change anything. You have to focus on the present and what you can do to make things right."

Liam nodded, but the weight of the truth was still heavy on his shoulders. Penelope could sense that he needed some time alone to process everything, so she took the baby for a walk, leaving Liam to his thoughts.
