Chapter 50

Sabine

A growl leaves my mouth as I try to adjust my eyes to the surrounding darkness. Trying to warm up, I pull my knees close to my chest. I could feel the tears pricking my eyes, but I refuse to let them fall. I am better than this.

I close my eyes one more time and let my mind wonder. How I wished Kade stayed by my side in the cottage he built for me and had at least one night together to remember. If I were to never see him again, at least I would have had the memories of being his.

Despite the ache I was feeling, I forced myself to stand up from the cold floor and start pacing back and forth in the small cage HE put me in. I needed to come up with a plan. I didn’t know where he kept me or what his intentions were regarding me, but I knew I couldn’t wait for anyone to come to my rescue.

My mind couldn’t help wondering if Kade was looking for me.
