Chapter 21
"What do you mean?" Seraphine was watching Mira unblinkingly, startled.
"I was a werewolf," Mira admitted, overwhelmed by a sudden great sorrow. She should've been able to change into a wolf just like her best friends.
Seraphine sucked in a cold breath. Her expression was one of shock. She had detected a faint werewolf scent on Mira before and hadn't thought too deeply into this. She thought that it was because she often hung out with other werewolves. Turned out that this wasn't the case.
That also explained how Mira able to contend against a beta. For a human, it was impossible to do this after all.
"I know that when a wolf died, the human counterpart died too." Mira paused for a moment. "I also have no explanation for this. But I am sure that I should have died back then. I don't know what happened."
Seraphine was silent. This information was too much even for an alpha like her to handle. What was the Moon Goddess's intention?
