Chapter 1

A girl in her late 20’s, was walking in a hotel corridor, completely drunk. Her 5ft 6-inch figure was dangling with a lost mind over her each step. Her vision was too hazel to recognize the path in front of her, just like her life. Anger, frustration, and feeling of betrayal once again were swelling her heart.

The golden fabric, given by this guy to appear as his this night, was wrapped around her delicate figure, hugging her curves perfectly like a carefully carved statue of a goddess. Her hips were lifted by pencil heels giving her slim back a perfect wave curve. Little makeup she did to glow up her features but now covered in sweats and tears.

Her head was spinning and aching but not more than her heart. She knew her body was strictly prohibited from alcohol. She just couldn't help it today to drown herself in this warm sea of liquor. Her health was abruptly falling like her heart pieces but too numb by her emotions to bother.

She felt like a fool to believe his words and consider forgiving his sins. He never deserved to be at peace in her eyes.

Her shaking legs stumbled on her heels as a foreign hand held her from the back. The owner of this grip turned her around and secured her around his arms. She lifts her head only to meet those eyes that always claimed to be guilty but end up closing on her sufferings. Those eyes are the ones she used to love secretly, and he turned them into hate and fear.

With all her remaining strength, all she could do now was to push him away. The further, the better, for both of them.

"Get lost, Parker. Just leave!" She screamed out her lungs as she pulled out of his hug.

"Jane.... you are not in the right state... I will take you to your home, we will talk there.” He said in a deep voice, reaching her ears to now gain attention to Jane’s drunk condition.

He tries to hold Jane, but she again pushes him off and takes a step back. Her jaw was clenched and her palms were in a fist, ready to beat the crap of him. This expression is nothing new for him yet uneasy to his heart.

"Stay away, Bastard! You ruined my life." A tear slipped from her eyes.

As her voice only got louder, gaining the attention of a few people who were roaming in the corridor, he tried to pull her to a secluded place.

"Jane, stop creating scenes--" Parker whisper-yelled as guests gave her looks at her wasted state.

Not buying a single word of his bullshit, Jane slapped him across the face. His world was stopped for a moment by the impact. When he came to sense, Jane was already holding on to his collar. Her eyes were red and filled with tears of anger.

"You think I forgot everything you did ten years ago. You snatched away my everything and said, you were not aware of anything? I suffered because of you every single day. How dare you still have the nerves to act this disgusting play of guilt in front of me!!".

Her words hurt him. His patience was running out as she completely denied granting him a chance to explain. She was not ready to listen to anything with her wildly running imagination.

“You never tried to understand me, did you?” he murmured on her face. His firm and disappointed tone made it harder to read him.

Bewildered by his statement and intense stare, her hands lose their grip but only to be clutched by his large palm and dragged out of that corridor. She kept calling him to stop, but his pace only increased with every jolt she gave. They ended up on a dark balcony where her shimmering dress no longer showed its grace, just like her face.

“Parker, for god's sake. Let me go!” Jane shouts in distress.

“No way!!” This time Parker roared back as he had enough of her resistance.

“Every time I reach, all you do is push me away. Just for once, can you please listen to me?” He jerked her in front but refused to let go of her hand.

Jane didn't pay any attention to his words and kept struggling to separate their hands. Parker finally gave up on his tolerance and slammed her over the wall. The impact was enough to send vibration to her whole body and shivers as the next thing he did was, press himself on her.

His face got closer and closer and her heartbeat started to rapid. Her body went uneasy by their closeness. It was making her head ache more, her body was renounced to fight, and breathing was again found to be a difficult task for her chest.

“Give up” his husky voice shivered out all her muscles.

Her eyes got heavy and completely lost her sight to darkness, as her all senses started to give up. Her body felt suffocated. Her heart nearly stopped. Was she feeling death, how come she became so weak in front of him.

She tried to move but her body felt bound with ropes. She wanted to open her eyes but was too dense to unfold. Everything felt similar to the experience she went through ten years ago. When she nearly met her end of life and dreams.

In the next split second, Jane felt herself falling from an unending height where everything was dark and depressingly silent. With every second, she started getting scared, her body stimulated to bounce up and meet a hard surface below her. Slowly, her eyelids allow her to gain sight and greet the sharp light surrounding her.

Jane found herself lying on a cold, white tiled floor beside a single-size bed with a white covered mattress. She lifted her hand to witness a couple of drips attached to her veins. She brushed her finger on her head, which contained wires stuck to her skin and attached to a nearby machine. She was wearing a plain light brown gown in place of the golden, shimmering dress she remembered from earlier.

Her eyes wander around, trying to understand the situation. A bed with side rods and ropes at its end, machines attached to her body, a medicine-smelling gown, and a CCTV camera at the end of the room corner. Her eyes twitch in shock to witness a big horizontal mirror on one of the walls displaying her broken state, so shamelessly. Her hairs were scattered, her eyes were filled with tears, and her lips were dried and chapped.

It didn’t take her long to realize the familiar smell of the hospital from that ward. It wasn’t her first time experiencing such scenery. Jane gathers up all her strength to stand up with the support of the hospital cot and remove the wires from her head and arms. She slowly looked up to meet her weak orbs hidden behind her black locks.

An unexpected smirk cracked up on her right corner of barren lips.

“So…, you send me to zero again….”
