Caught

“I am assuming that you two are not friends,” Lavi mutters. Both of them have been tied to trees with silver chains. Lavi is not weak against the metal but the assassin is and he is feeling the burns on his hands as well. Anna is trying her best to wriggle out of the chains but it is nearly impossible. Nine got her good.

“We are not!” Anna groans.

It is night time and there are guards around them. Lavi cannot use his magic because the fae soldiers have put up strong defense. Moreover, they still do not know what is going on because Nine still did not inform the royal family about them which only makes them more suspicious.

“What is going on?” Anna asks. “Do you see anything strange?”

“Nothing other than guards…”

The guards are drowsy so the duo are speaking in hushed tones. Lavi tries to use his magic again but it is hopeless.

“You know, if you had mated with the assassin, you could have easily beaten the filthy fae magic,” Airen says lazily.
