Scarlet Eyed Emperor

Snowflakes are slowly falling from the sky, curtaining the whole forest in white. The trees are slightly swaying in the night breeze while large mountains can be seen in the distance, cold and dark. A full moon is shining in the sky, illuminating the snowy white lands.

Along the road, a carriage is being driven by a coachman while several soldiers are trotting on their horses. They are wearing black armor and the atmosphere is somber as if they are in mourning. Even the carriage has been draped in black cloth and inside it, a body is being carried. Ice had been stuffed into the carriage and magically frozen so that the corpse inside does not decompose any time soon.

“The Duke wants us to take the Lady straight to the mansion,” one of the soldiers says.

“Do we have to mourn? I didn’t like her much anyway,” another soldier groans.

“Neither did I but we have to carry out our duties.”
