A knock

A knock came on the door at the same time Harriet was getting her popcorn from the microwave. She groaned, wondering who was disturbing their peace at that time of the day. She removed the bowl from the microwave and dropped it on the island table before going to get the door.

To her surprise, she saw two of the elders of the pack. Her eyes went wide. They never came out except it was important. Her father was the Gamma hence she knew the elders and understood their importance in the pack. Quickly, she bowed her head.

“Where is Lily?” One of the men asked.

Harriet raised her brows, surprised at the name they had called. What was special about Lily? The elders even came to find her.

“She is not here.” She almost rolled her eyes.

“Bring her out, we know you would protect her.” The other elder growled. They both had grey hair and wrinkles on their faces but their voice and aura was still very strong.

“Why will I do such? Lily doesn't live here anymore.” Harriet answered politely.
