The kiss was short-lived; Caleb pulled away, and the two of them went home. The atmosphere between them was awkward, so they remained silent. Upon entering the living room, Gabriel and Nathaniel were waiting for them. The brothers stared at Caleb as if he had grown two heads.

"You left us because of her?" Gabriel shouted, swinging his book in the air.

"I'm starting to think you have feelings for this girl. You're acting soft with her and all!" Nathaniel added, rolling his eyes.

"She slept with some guy, and yet you're helping her!" Gabriel yelled.

"Can you two stop shouting?" Caleb sighed, rubbing his forehead.

"She should have stopped that scumbag when he was about to sleep with her. She reeks of him, and it disgusts me!" Nathaniel rolled his eyes.

"You two need to stop. We shouldn't treat her like this." Caleb let out another sigh.
