CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Elijah's POV

I couldn't sleep for a long time. My thoughts was constantly going back to Avalon. I had noticed that she hadn't spoken much yesterday, not when we were at the Kingston Ltd shop, nor when went to eat, not when we came back. It looked like she was bothered by something, and I knew that the others noticed as well.

I saw the tears in her eyes that she tried to blink away when I asked her if she was okay. But when we came back, she had left to her room and we were all confused. We had thought that she'd come to dinner, but she skipped that. I was worried, so I looked for her around the academy.

However when I found her sitting in the garden behind the academy, with Can't take my eyes off you by Frank Sinatra playing. Her head tilted up towards the stars, her eyes closed as silent tears leaked from her eyes - I froze. She hadn't noticed me then, it was as if she was playing memories through her head.
