Jo POV
“You trusted him before me. You went to my brother when you should’ve come to me? This is about my life and you went to him?” Dylan says as he gets his clothes from the floor and starts putting them on.
“Dylan, please, you need to understand. I didn’t know what to do,” I say, but all he does is shake his head while he continues to get dressed. He is not even looking at me.
“I was with you, just after he left you, and you hid it from me. You chose to keep me in the dark.” He shouts at me and I jump. He never spoke to me like that, ever. I watch as he sits, putting his shoes on. I walk to him and kneel in front of him, touching his leg, but he doesn’t look at me. I open my mouth to speak but close it straight after because it doesn’t matter what I say now. He feels betrayed and I understand that.
Dylan grabs his keys and walks out of the room, leaving me on my knees near the bed as I watch h
Jo POV“Jo, I need you to know I am sorry for how I reacted earlier. I just, it was too much…” he says and I nod as I spin around to look at him and he is looking down at his shoes. I walk to him, placing both my hands on his face, forcing him to look at me. When his eyes meet mine, everything I thought earlier disappears and I realize I can’t live without this man anymore.“I love you Dylan Ashford, and I will be by your side until the day you decide you’ve had enough of me, I will help you through the storm that is brewing, but I will need you to stop walking away and let me in,” I say and he nods.“Thank you,” he says as he pulls me into his arms, wrapping them around my back, keeping me pressed against his body. I can feel his heart beating fast against his chest. Dylan kisses me deeply as I melt against him as he pulls me to his bed in the middle of the room.I fall on my back with him on top of
Dylan POV As we walk down the stairs, I can feel Jo feel a lot more relaxed than before. We walk through the lobby to the sitting area where my mom is drinking some tea and reading a pile of papers. She raises her head, watching us. She takes her glasses off, places them neatly over the pile of papers, and smiles. “Mom, this is Jo, my girlfriend,” I say and my mom smiles, looking at Jo. Jo looks at me nervously as my mom offers her hand to shake. Jo lets go of my hand, shaking it. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, dear,” Mom says, and Jo smiles. “The pleasure is mine. You have a beautiful house,” she says and my mom beams at Jo. I pull Jo to sit next to me on the couch while my mom rings her obnoxious bell and the maid walks into the room almost instantly. I wonder if she is just standing around waiting for my mom to ring the damn thing. “Bring us some more tea please,” my mom says, and the maid nods, taking away the lukewarm tea.
Jo POV“I need you to move,” I say as Dylan lays flat on top of me. I can barely breathe with his full weight on top of me, crushing me on the bed.“No,” he says, and I can’t help but smile as I tickle him. He is very ticklish and immediately he rolls off of me and I stand up. I have an appointment with the miracle doctor Layla scheduled to plan my eggs retrieval.Dylan and I agreed that right now it’s too early to go on with a pregnancy, but I will keep my eggs frozen. So we can retrieve them whenever we feel it is time to move on with the surrogacy for our baby.“What time is your appointment?” Dylan asks and I take a deep breath as I pull his t-shirt down my body, covering my exposed skin.“Nine,” I say and he nods, looking at the watch on this wrist. I walk into the bathroom to get ready. I needed a shower, especially after the night we had. We have been baptizing every inch of his hou
Jo POV“Shit,” Layla says, looking at it and then back at me.I walk back into the house, closing the door as I look at the photo in my hand. I guess this is why he drugged me, this is why he wanted me asleep, completely passed out.“That bastard! I swear I am going to rip his balls off when the guys find him,” Layla says, but I can’t move. The photo in front of me has me paralyzed.“I thought I heard something,” I hear Alma say as she walks into the living room. “Is everything okay?” She asks as she looks at me. Layla looks at her and shakes her head before Alma walks towards us.I keep the photo against my chest so she can’t see it. After all, the bastard in bed with me naked is her son and I don’t want to subject her to this. “Alm
Dylan POV“Dylan, we received some photos today and we would like for you to comment on it please,” one reporter says as I nod. I look at Richard, that is on the phone, and he looks serious. The photo appears on the screen behind me and on the laptop in front of me and I feel like I have been punched in the stomach. All the air leaves my lungs and I feel like the room is spinning.Richard signals to his PR team to end the conference. I keep my eyes on the photo, not really being able to move. This was the reason he drugged her. He wanted to fabricate this, to make me believe Jo was cheating on me.“Who is the guy in the photo? How are you feeling?” I can hear the questions being shouted as everyone is being escorted out of the room. Richard approaches me and I take a deep breath, looking him in the eye. “This is a lie,” I say, and
Dylan POVJo should be home by now. I have the tv on and I can see the reporters waiting outside my house for her; they are everywhere. Fucking vultures. I know I work for the biggest media company in the country and this is what we do, but when we are the ones in the spotlight, things change. To be fair, our reporters know boundaries and it is in our policy not to invade their privacy unless we are invited to, we don’t go chasing people just to get the best photo of the new hot celebrity in a bikini after having a tummy tuck. That’s not who we are.“Dylan, do you want some tea?” Alma asks as she witnesses me pacing around the living room like a fucking lunatic.“I think I need something a little stronger,” I say and she shakes her head, placing her hands on her hips.“Alcohol will solve nothing,” she scolds me and I nod. I guess she is right. It will not solve anything, but it sure as hell will help
Dylan POVI look at Jo, that has gone pale. She lost all the color of her face as she looks at the photos. I grab them and rip them into a thousand pieces as Jo watches me with tears rolling down her cheeks. “Why is he doing this to me?” She asks and I would love to know the answer.“I don’t know, but I am going to kill that bastard,” I say as I pull Jo into a tight embrace. And she rests her head against my chest as she cries. She has been hurt and there’s nothing I can do to make her feel better.“What does he want from me? Why is he doing this? Please make it stop.” Jo cries against my chest as she holds my shirt in her fists. I can feel my heart breaking for her. I wish there was something I could do to make her feel better, but there isn’t.My phone rin
Dylan POV We walk through the double doors to find Fred on his phone pacing around the foyer. He raises an eyebrow and then walks deeper into the house to get out of earshot. I watch as his body is tense, and he looks like he is about to explode. Whatever is happening there is not good. Jo holds my hand as I guide her back into the little sitting room we were in earlier. Mom is sitting with her glasses resting on the tip of her nose while my dad is sitting on the other side of the couch reading the newspaper. I stop walking as I wasn’t expecting him to be there. I take a deep breath and kiss Mom on the top of the head while Jo smiles and gives Mom an air kiss. I shake my head slightly because I will never understand the air kiss thing. “Dylan my boy, how are you?” Dad asks and Jo squeezes my hand and I take a deep breath, looking at the old man. I feel like shouting at him through the top of my lungs, but I control myself and shake his hand without gi
