Thirty Nine

Wrapped in Nate’s abnormally large, tattooed arms, in the blissful mahogany bed, I couldn’t have felt more content. As the back of my head rested against Nate’s bare chest, the drum of his heartbeat sounded like my favourite song. I didn’t know it was possible to be this happy, never in my wildest dreams had I imagined I would end up with a mate like Nate. Months ago, I doubted I even had a mate and yet, here I am, in the Wolf King’s hold.

The room we resided in was beautifully simple, with white plush carpets and a vintage, mahogany dresser against the back wall. A candle, waterfall chandelier fell from the ceiling, directly above Nate and I. Beside the door stood an antique, French wardrobe with the Amaris symbol hand carved along the top, complimented with a full length mirror on either door frame. To my right, stood double white, wooden doors that led out to a wide, spacious balcony.
