Chapter 39: Dawn
It was hard to say that Elena said the truth but it must be difficult for her to know what sacrifices she had given for the quest. Jason has to understand her silence. She accepted his visits to the Time Palace but she was not speaking to him. She was always looking far away.
Jason gave her space and he needed to prepare her for what was about to come. Besides, he's not yet ready too. He's preparing himself as well.
The drums of war were now rolling and he could see that they were almost ready. The smokes had been rising for days and the skies were no longer peaceful. The air was now arid of metal and the music played by the clang of swords and swishes of magic if not by the striking of lightning.
The Palace was once a small peaceful community but someone was shaking it and it was just expected that these moments would arrive. They had the advantage of they prepared and the Magicians were just lucky because they had someone who had seen everything before.
