Rebecca's POV

"What? Like me?" I stared wide-eyed, looking at Ken in disbelief.

However, the alpha looked nervous and increasingly embarrassed. He quickly looked away to hide the redness that was on his cheeks.

"Ah, I'm sorry, Rebecca. I just misspoke. I didn't mean it like that," said Ken, but his words sounded very nervous and shaking.

"Ah, okay, alpha. That's impossible after all. Or maybe I just heard wrong." I smiled and lay down again to rest.

"Yes, that's possible. Now you rest. I will always wait for you here."

"Thank you very much, Alpha."

That's how it ended. That night and several nights after that, Alpha always faithfully looked after me while I was being treated at the healer center. He even missed several ceremonial events, because he was busy accompanying me who was being treated intensively.
