83. Hospital

LIA'S POV

I did not leave after Asher had asked me to. I decided to hang on for a few minutes.

As I walked deeper into the hospital, my nose was on high alert, picking up on every scent that crossed my path. I couldn't help but be surprised by how familiar the scent seemed. It was almost like mine, but not quite. I couldn't help but wonder if I had turned into a beast overnight, the thought made me chuckle to myself.

I sniffed around, trying to figure out where the familiar scent was coming from. I walked through the hospital rooms, each one more cluttered and destroyed than the last. The doctors were all injured, some more severely than others. I couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt for not being there to help, for not being able to protect them. But there was nothing I could do now.
