Chapter 24

Maxwell held a bat in his hand while he was in his wolf form. Dried blood had stained its handle and its wood. I was in shock when I saw it.

"Amelia, I've missed you. Won't you say it back to me?"

He spoke.

My body immediately began to tremble. Miss me? After all he had done. What did he take me for?

At that moment, the hurts, kicking and heavy punching no longer felt like a joke to me. It was as clear as day.

Maxwell had hurt me and I had remembered it.

I called out to my parents to come see what was happening at the door but no one answered.

"Mother! Father!! Come see what Maxwell is holding" I called again but yet no one said anything to me.

I started to feel heat from behind where I was standing and this gave me more heat inside of me.

"Mother! father!" I tried to call again and this time, when they did not respond, I turned to see what was going on.
